baby sewing

snuggler

While I was still pregnant I made some small things for our little boy, which I'd like to share here. First, I made a snuggler. I had made one for V. as well and it wasn't looking very good anymore because we actually used it quite a lot and I thought it would be nice to have a new one and that two couldn't hurt. Well, it turned out we didn't really use it that much with L., but I don't mind, it was fun making it and combining these cute fabrics!

Then I made this little hooded suit, which has been seeing a lot of use and looks really cute on! Yay! :-)

Those bears are just so cute! I made V. a hoodie and trouser set a while ago and luckily had some fabric left over!

So snuggly! :-) This was actually surprisingly quick and easy to sew! I might have to make another one for next winter ... Let's see ... and now we'll think about spring and summer first!!!

Then of course I had to make some Quick Change Trousers (from Anna Maria Horner's book Handmade Beginnings)! The first one is lined with flannell:

The second one might be my favourite:

And then, on a whim, I made this quick and easy blanket after stumbling on this post and just not being able to resist making one myself. I started off with these fabrics:

Then I added these:

And this is the result (I had to substitute the bottom right print with the green text print I ended up using in the middle because my piece of fabric was too small, but I really like the text print in this mix, so I guess it was lucky this way!)

And that flannell is the perfect backing, so glad I could use it for this project! It's one of my very favourite fabrics!

And that's it. Not too bad, I think! ;-) :-)

a little quilt made a big trip

... and arrived at our home for L. to snuggle with!

a quilt for L. from Bonjour Quilts

Kirsty sent such a lovely and generous gift all the way from Australia! The quilt is really stunning, I love the colours and prints and the geometric pattern. So happy and dynamic, perfect for a little boy! :-)

She also sent me this. It was quite an emotional moment seeing that little jacket again in real life. Who would have thought back then that my own little baby would be wearing it one day?! :-) There also might have been some chocolate ... Ahem! Thank you again so, so much Kirsty!!! You'll be happy to hear that the quilt has since been spit up on and washed! :-D
