teeny tiny post

There wasn't much sewing going on around here for the last couple of weeks. I've been busy with work and needed to do goofy things (read: surfing youtube and finding great things like this and this -spoiler alert for the latter!!!) in my free time to wind down. I made the HST Block of the Month for April, though:

Love the pinwheels! The floral fabrics and the fresh colours have such a nice spring-like feel, I think. The good thing about finishing this so late in the month is I won't have to wait that long for the next one! :-)

The photo isn't all that great and I miss the convenience of Picnic when it comes to cropping and editing. It having shut down is a good reason for me to make the most of my purchase of Photoshop Elements, though. I even bought a book on it, hoping to learn more about the program, which is quite confusing for a beginner, I think. For now, I'll leave you with a boring unedited pic, though. If I didn't, there wouldn't be a post for another couple of weeks, I fear.

Next on my list: hand-sewing the binding of the Sparkle Mini quilt while watching some TV! Finnish national television has been showing Desperate Romantics lately and I really like it! The actors are great and it is a lot funnier (and saucier) than I expected!

Have a great weekend!

first signs of spring

reading outside

We spent a couple of days at the summer cottage this weekend, and although there's still a lot of snow and ice, we could perceive the first signs of spring. On Sunday afternoon, it was actually warm enough to sit outside and read, for example! Armed with warm clothes and a blanket, of course, but still! It was really nice soaking up some sunshine, drinking lemonade and reading (a pretty interiour decoration book for me, a crime novel for J.).

We even saw a butterfly! Really, here is hoping that spring might come one day! I had to smile at some new Swedish Ikea commercials, saying: "summer is here". You can see the pictures in a slideshow on Ikea's Swedish homepage.

beautiful colours at the lake

Of course, winter is pretty, too ...

I've made some progress on the Daisychain ABCs, but haven't quite finished it, yet. I'm at W right now! Only 3,5 more letters to go!

It was really lovely, spending a nice slow weekend together again.

The sunsets are so beautiful at the moment!

Have a good weekend!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

This week went by so quickly! I've been surrounding myself with Easter inspiration and little fabric piles inspired by spring, but haven't made much progress in any of my sewing projects.

Easter colour collage

I've made some small progress on my Daisychain ABCs, though, and might well be able to finish it over Easter. The colours of the sampler are so perfect for spring!

fabric for Swoon block 3 &

I've also finally cut the fabric for my 3rd and 4th Swoon block. I tried to cut corners by cutting two layers at once, but was punished for my laziness. Since the cutting plan for a FQ does not really allow for any wiggle room, I had to substitute other fabric for some of the pieces. Well, I'm telling myself it will add to the charm of the quilt ...

I wish you a Happy Easter weekend!
